Abstract

Abstract COVID-19 became a problem in Indonesia, especially in education. The whole educational level ranging from basic to higher education is required to learn from home or online. This study aimed to find: (1) the learning motivation effect on the Achievement Index (AI), (2) the parents’role effect on AI, and (3) the interaction of learning motivation and parents’ role in AI. This research used a descriptive quantitative method with a google form survey approach. The sample in this study was 154 students of PGMI study program for the even semester in 2020/2021. The analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis to test three hypotheses. The results showed that: (1) there was an influence of learning motivation on students' AI, (2) there was an influence of parents' role on AI, and (3) there was an interaction between learning motivation and parents' role in students' AI.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes in class 2 of MINU Ngingas Sidoarjo by using concrete media in integrative thematic learning. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), including two cycles. Each cycle consisted of three stages: planning, action and observation, and reflection. Data collecting procedures used were test, observation, and interview techniques. The observations showed the problem of students' disinterest in lecture learning. Interview data gave the result that students did not understand abstract material. The problem found was no usage of real media, so it affected students' understanding. Actions using concrete media in integrative thematic learning indicated that applying concrete media to integrative thematic learning could improve students’ learning outcomes in class 2 of MINU Ngingas Sidoarjo. Concrete media was very influential in improving students’ learning outcomes in integrative thematic learning in class 2 of MINU Ngingas Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic has switched the face-to-face learning system to online learning related to digital technology access and the parent-student attachment to learning activities. This study aimed to explain the effectiveness of online learning on technology ability and parent attachment in elementary school students. The method used was a quantitative survey. The sampling technique was random sampling with 396 total population, and 40 participants were students’ parents at MI Islamiyah Ngoro Jombang. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The data analysis used descriptive statistical tests and manova (multivariate analysis of variance). The results indicated that 13 students took online learning (X) for less than 1 year and 27 students for more than 1 year. This result proved that online learning significantly influenced technology ability and parent-student attachment. Therefore, it can be concluded that online learning effectively improved technology skills and parental attachment to students at MI Islamiyah Ngoro Jombang.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to determine the extent of students' understanding of multiplication arithmetic operations using the RME method. The samples in this study were the 3rd-grade students of MI Miftahul Huda, consisting of 28 students selected using purposive sampling. This study used a quasi-experimental quantitative method with the type of the time-series experiment. The research results indicated that the students’ understanding of multiplication improved. The indicators of multiplication based on the memorization method, multiplication concept with repeated addition, multiplication concept with its properties, and applying the concept of multiplication to story problems showed an increase, therefore it can be concluded that the understanding of the multiplication concepts of the 3rd-grade students of MI Miftahul Huda Jatisari students experienced a significant increase. Students have been able to understand simple mathematical concepts and prove them without always relying upon their memorization results.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to examine the implementation of questioning and reinforcement skills in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at SDN 4 Konawe Selatan. This study was qualitative research. The research informants were the principal, 6 teachers, and 2 student representatives. The data in this study were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research data was analyzed through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The data were tested for validity using technical and source triangulation. The research results indicated that online learning implemented at SDN 4 Konawe Selatan was asynchronous and synchronous learning models. Most teachers used an asynchronous model in online learning using the whatsapp group. Synchronous learning through the zoom and google meet platforms was only applied in grades V and VI. In the two online learning models, the teachers provided verbal and nonverbal reinforcement, but the implementation of the reinforcement was very limited to asynchronous learning.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to describe the understanding of the learning concepts of students taught using the mini book and crossword puzzle media in learning material of diversity in Indonesia. The type of research was a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The population \were 3 classes, namely class IV A, B, and C of MIN Bima City for the 2020/2021 academic year, consisting of 97 students. The instrument used was a test. The data analysis technique used descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicated that (1) the average value of students’ understanding taught with mini-book was higher than without using media, (2) students taught with crossword puzzle media were higher than without using media, and (3) there was a significant difference in students' understanding of learning concepts on the material of diversity in Indonesia between the mini book and crossword puzzle media. The implication of this research showed that the mini book and crossword puzzle media could increase students' understanding of learning concepts.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to describe the students' mathematical anxiety during online learning at a private elementary school in Bandung, Indonesia. This research used a quantitative method. The subjects of this study were 28 fifth-grade students, a teacher, and students’ parents. The instruments were questionnaires for students and an interview list for the teacher and parents. The data was then analyzed quantitatively and descriptively through tables and charts. The result indicated that each aspect of mathematical anxiety in this study showed a low category for affective and high for cognitive and somatic aspects. The anxiety of elementary school students should be a particular concern for teachers in carrying out learning so as not to interrupt the learning process.

Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to describe the need to analyze mathematics teaching materials based on mathematical proficiency in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Qualitative research was used in this research. The research was conducted in one of the Private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in South Tangerang, Indonesia. The subject consisted of two mathematics teachers. The data collected through interview and documentation techniques consisted of curriculum and mathematics teaching materials. The data were analyzed using triangulation consisting of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion and verification. The result showed that the need analysis of mathematics teaching materials consisted of: (1) the curriculum of mathematics needed to be arranged about the sequence of materials, (2) teachers needed mathematics teaching materials in various types, and (3) the mathematics concepts based on mathematical proficiency in teaching materials needed to be improved. These results can be a reference for developing teaching materials based on mathematical proficiency for mathematics teaching and learning.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to describe the application of digital literacy at the elementary school level during online learning. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study design at Masehi Elementary School in Pekalongan City. The informants of this study were six educators and six parents. The data were obtained using interviews, observation, and documentation. The study results showed that using a communication platform, namely WhatsApp, could function as a learning medium at the elementary school level. Teachers did not use Learning Management systems (LMS) such as Google Classroom because it was not acceptable to parents and students found it difficult to operate in online learning. The results of this study have contributed to the lack of literature discussing the weaknesses of LMS and learning applications for elementary school students.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to know the influence of using poster learning media based on the scientific approach to the students’ cognitive ability, especially lessons of Islamic education in the fifth-grade students of SDI Raulo district in Parigi, Gowa Regency. This research used ex post facto type. The population of this research was the students of SDI Raulo, consisting of 17 students. The research results indicated that: (1) the average score of using poster learning media in SDI Roulo was still in the medium category, with an achievement maximum 84 and a minimum 68, (2) the average score of students’ cognitive ability of Islamic education lessons for the fifth grade in SDI Raulo were in a medium category with achievement maximum 87 and minimum 76, and (3) there was an influence of using poster learning media to students’ cognitive ability in Islamic Education lessons. The teachers should use learning media such as posters to interest students in learning Islamic education lessons.
